Everything was going well in this little demonstration video until one of the other hens came along and decided to crash the party and insert itself into the crate with mother and babies. Needless to say the photographer had
to extract it while still holding onto the new Nikon Coolpix camera.

COYOTE AGAIN

It's baaaccckkk! First time I've seen one in over a year, and this one has showed up 3 mornings in a row. It wants my dogs, or chickens, or whatever it can get although
I think the pic shows that it is not anywhere near starving or even thin. So until this threat is resolved, everyone is on a short leash or it's outside time monitored by yours truly.

Just add insult to injury!

Stormie's Story

According to the pound in 1000 Palms (which by the way is the nicest pound I've seen so far) she was found wandering loose in Blythe. She lived at the pound there for over a month and was transferred out here where she had been in the pound for just about a month with no success at being adopted.
She was even taken to PetsMart for showing for adoption twice, but to no avail.

Apparently I'm the only one who likes big dumbo ears. To me she looks like a freeze-dried Doberman. So it took only one look at her and I scratched off my list the other 5 dogs I had wanted to see.

It's Been So Damned HOT!!

that I think the fire started from spontaneous combustion from temps passing 110. Forecast for tomorrow: 112 here, 117 in Palm Springs. Yuck-O.

I guess the only thing worse would be sitting in New Orleans today and tomorrow. Double Yuck-O

North Palm Springs Fire:
"Over 300 Firefighters are working to contain a brush fire burning in northern Palm Springs that started Friday evening.
The fire has consumed over 1500 acres burning in the Blaisdell Canyon area just south of Windy Point.

Fire officials say a campfire in the canyon was the cause of the brushfire.
Currently there are voluntary evacuations for residents.
The California Highway Patrol has shutdown Highway111 between Interstate 10 and Tramway Road.
The Palm Springs Tramway has shut down as a precaution."
